Letter from the Superintendent - 2/18/2021

February 18, 2021

Dear USV students, parents, and community,

I wanted to start by thanking everyone for the hard work that has been put in to make the 2020/2021 school year a success so far.   All the regulations placed on us by the Covid virus as well as the number of cancellation days due to weather have made this year challenging.  The entire Upper Scioto Valley School family has been dedicated to educating our students and making the best of a difficult situation.

With the cancellation today, we are now at 9 days of school closure this school year.  We have already made one of these days up on February 15.  We have two more days that are scheduled make-up days.   These are Friday, March 19th and Monday, April 5.   We will also be making up Tuesday, May 25 as a staff professional development day.   The students will not have to report this day.

Any further cancellations this school year will be Remote Learning Days.  The MS and HS students will follow a two-hour delay schedule and complete lessons on-line.   The elementary students will be doing a combination of paper-pencil work and on-line learning depending on grade level.   The elementary teachers will be in contact with you with more specific information.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school.   (419) 757-3231

Thanks,

Craig M. Hurley
