Job Posting - 2nd Grade Teacher
The Upper Scioto Valley Local School District has an anticipated opening for a second-grade teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. All qualified and interested persons should apply in writing to the office of the Superintendent by the close of business June 27, 2024.
Job Posting - Social Worker
The Upper Scioto Valley School District has an anticipated opening for a Social Worker for the
2024-2025 school year. This is an exempt (non-union) position. Interested persons should apply
in writing to the Office of the Superintendent.
Substitute Positions
The Upper Scioto Valley School District is always willing to accept applications for substitute custodians, cafeteria, secretaries, educational aids/classroom monitors, and bus drivers. If you would like to apply please download and print the classified staff job application (on the right side of this page), and return it to the office. You can also always stop by and ask for an application in our central office.
Substitute Bus Driver - CDL Training will be Provided
Steps to be a School Bus Driver
Complete an Upper Scioto Valley employment application.
The transportation department will run a comprehensive Bureau of Motor Vehicles check using a copy of the candidate’s drivers’ license and social security number. The following offenses are disqualifying:
OVI or DUI within the past 10 years.
FRA suspension in the past 6 years.
Driver obtains a Federal and State background check.
Driver completes a pre-employment physical with drug and alcohol testing.
Driver attends the Ohio School Bus Driver Pre-service training held in Lima or Findlay, which consists of 16 hours of training, 4 hours per day. Classes are offered at different times throughout the year.
Driver obtains a temporary Class B CDL from BMV.
Driver completes a minimum of 12 hours of training with an on-board instructor.
Driver secures Class B CDL with School Bus/ Passenger Bus Endorsement from the BMV.
