USV Community,

It is an exciting time of year.  The students and staff have completed 2 weeks of the 2021/2022 school year.  It is wonderful to be able to see the students’ smiling faces as they come into school every day.  We are very excited to be in school daily and plan to do so throughout the school year.

This year we welcomed the class of 2034 into the school, as well as 14 new staff members.  We are excited to work with these students and all our students to reach the goal of high school graduation.    High school graduation is the number one goal for every student that enters our school.   We will work with all students to ensure they are ready for their future life plans, whether that be the military, the workforce or continuing their education.  Every student is different, and we will strive to assist every one of them to be the best that they can be.

There are two philosophies that I try to live by and promote within our school:

  1. Care About ALL Kids! – If we truly care about all our students, then we will do everything within our power to see them succeed.

  1. It’s a Great Day to Learn! – Everyone needs to be learning every day.  No matter our age or position in life we should always be striving to learn.

The Upper Scioto Valley Staff will continue to work hard to see that all students reach their potential.   Please contact us with any questions or concerns.

Thanks,

Craig M. Hurley
